A global evidence review of systemic factors influencing participation in pharmacy professional development activities

Abstract Background Changes to the pharmacy profession have meant that a degree can no longer serve as an endpoint professional training within pharmacy. Continuing learning and are imperative in order provide high-quality healthcare services. Investing workers’ education not only has positive impact on employment rates economic growth but also results remarkable improvement health population outcomes. Objectives To identify factors affecting pharmacists’ participation Education (CE) or Professional Development (CPD) activities. Methods Relevant literature was identified through systematic search of following databases: EMBASE, (CINAHL Plus, SCOPUS, PsysINFO, PubMed, Australian Index (AEI) British (BEI). Results Two hundred eighty-seven studies were screened, thirty-two included this review. Reviewing retrieved four may influence development Factors comprised: attitudes, access needs-based education, support, policy. Conclusion Understanding connection between systems policies help leaders policy makers make more informed decisions with regards workforce by creating better strategies for training, career development.
